Our second grade team spent much of their fall talking about the world water crisis and learning about how important it is to have access to clean water for everyone in the world. Here in Seattle we often take water for granted, I mean it is all around us, sometimes to the point of too much water. But as our second graders have learned, clean water is not something that everyone has access too, but it is something that can change a community. Because knowledge is something that needs to be shared, all of the second graders lead by Ms. Meg were able to create a beautiful piece of art that can help others in our community about the importance of water. Come take a look at this beautiful new bus shelter outside of Queen Anne Elementary on the corner of Bigelow and Boston. A ribbon cutting is being planned as we speak. Stay tuned for more details on that event.
Finally, all of this awarenss of the world water crisis has led to a team of teachers and students to participate in the Carry5 Walk for Water event on May 4th at the Seattle Center at 1:00. Happy Spring Break!
