Please join us this Tuesday, June 10th for our first Queen Anne Elementary PBL Open House & Garden Walk. Doors will be open from 6:00-7:30pm with the second grade classes hosting a ribbon cutting at the bus shelter on the corner of Boston and Bigelow at 6:00pm. QAE students and staff are excited to celebrate our learning from this past year. Student work will be displayed throughout the QAE campus, in both The Brick and Treehouse buildings, as well as the bus shelter on Boston. During this evening you will have a chance to share in the love for birding (like our first graders pictured above), become a whale expert with our second graders, marvel at our third graders living walls, adventure into the world of African animals, and be inspired by what takes place during "genius hour", along with much more. Along with all of the PBL work, please take a moment to enjoy the beautiful art work our students have created under the leadership of our art teacher, Ms. Meg. Campus maps will be available so that families can participate in the self guided tour at their own pace. We hope you'll take the time to not only visit your child's class, but to see what other projects have taken place across all grade levels. Our QAE garden will also be buzzing with many activities. Come view all of the life brought to our garden by our volunteers. Play chess with our larger than life chess board in the garden. See something you like? Don't worry, we'll be hosting a plant sale near our garden. You will also have a chance to sample some tasty treats while strolling to the music of our own Connor Desai. In addition, purchases from Farm Raiser will be available for pick up. We hope to see you tomorrow evening! Kristi Leland |
AuthorThis is my fifth year working at Queen Anne Elementary in Seattle, Washington. The first three were spent guiding the curious minds of first graders. This is my second year as the Project Based Learning Coordinator for our school. What a treat to be working in this role. I get to spend my day working closely with the amazing teachers at our school, and to help all students become engaged learners, critical thinkers, and responsible citizens. Archives
